Evaluation of legislative implementation for mental health consumer advance statements: A mixed methods study

This presentation will report a mixed methods design study using three phases of data collection.  Triangulate data analysis was sought to best understand the implementation of new policy for mental health consumer advance statements.  Following an integrative review, key government staff and stake holders were interviewed.  Phase two involved a state-wide on line survey using with phase three involving clinician interviews.  Strengths of mixed methods design has been considered along with narrative concerning data collection and engagement with potential participants.


Biography:

Russell is a mental health nurse employed at the University of Tasmanian and is a PhD Candidate at RMIT University.  He has experience in a range of clinical settings across the mental health service in both Victoria and Tasmania.
